Return Of The Matt: Doctor Who, Series 7 Part 2.

As an avid Doctor Who fan, I was beyond excited about the return of the show after Series 7 was (stupidly, in my opinion) split into two parts.
Series 7, Part 2, Episode 1 witnessed the return of not only the Doctor, but Clara, who is forever there and forever dying without becoming a 'proper' assistant. Is this the episode where she will finally join the tradition of the female assistant?

I've noticed a great change in the Doctor Who franchise over the years (beginning with Christopher Ecclestone, as I'm too young to have seen any of the Doctor's previous). It's becoming much more about the people and society, and much less about the aliens. Almost half an hour into the episode, and there's been no real sight of an alien, just a few WiFi robots who act as hosts for human souls.
Does it remind anyone else of Black Mirror?
The way the Doctor and Clara are tracked through images uploaded on the internet, the corruption of WiFi, even the metaphor of the internet stealing our souls. It's as if Charlie Brooker himself produced this episode.
As a fan of Black Mirror, I can't complain. Although I can imagine some hardcore Doctor Who fans will be furious at the lack of Cybermen and Daleks.
I have to admit I was deceived by this episode initially; when it appeared that the Doctor had been turned into one of the WiFi robots, I anticipated Clara would have to save him. A kind of role reversal on the traditional set-up. I, of course, was forgetting the basics that we were told at the start of the episode - that these robots can transform into an image the person knows. When the real Doctor came and realised what had happened, I have to admit I felt a bit stupid!
I quite enjoy the casting of Celia Imrie as a baddie; I've previously only seen her as a dopey boss in Dinnerladies (don't judge me, my dad is obsessed with the show!) and so it's intriguing to see her extend her acting abilities to play the antithesis of this role.
She gets what she deserves, of course, as the Doctor cleverly uses their system against them.
Is that Richard E. Grant I see? Last time we saw him in Doctor Who, he was controlling evil snowmen in Victorian England. This, coincidentally, was when Clara died (for the second time), so is he back for revenge? The relationship between himself and Celia Imrie is similar to the dependent one he had on the snowman. I couldn't tell you if this was sheer coincidence or it is some kind of plot that will develop throughout the series, although I can't imagine the producers of the show would cast Richard E. Grant for no reason. I hope to see an interesting development in future episodes.

Apologies if this post seems a bit jumbled! I've been writing as I was watching, so as the show changed and I was introduced to new characters, my writing adapted to accommodate!
