Twitter Find Of The Day: Parrington Jackson.

I spend a lot of my time on social networks, particularly Twitter. Twitter is a fantastic platform for small bands to promote themselves and increase their audience, which is one of the reasons I love it so much.
Earlier today, I was followed by Parrington Jackson (find their Twitter page here), a little band from Bristol who provide "waves of harmonies, guitars and synths with their brand of electro rock".

As I've said in a previous post, I always try to make the effort to check out any musicians that follow me on Twitter; it's a great way to avoid revision for my looming exams (if you've checked out this band already, you might appreciate that little pun) and you never know what talent you might uncover.
Parrington Jackson don't have a particularly unique sound, but that doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable. It's the perfect balance of chilled out enough to have it on in the background but it also has some brilliant sections which I can imagine creating a real buzz during a live performance.
Their EP Looming (which I assume is their first as this is the only one available on their SoundCloud) is very easy listening and has some interesting guitar/synth twists which sets it apart from your average indie/rock group.
2013 definitely seems to be encountering an electro-boom, which can only be good news for this band. It's obvious from their Twitter feed that they have limited support; but this isn't because of a lack of talent, rather a lack of exposure. I think with the right amount of exposure and promotion, this band can develop greatly. They definitely have a Radio One sound, and will appeal to that audience. I haven't done enough research on the band to know if they've been part of the BBC Introducing project, but if not, they're definitely a worthy candidate.
I've now listened to the EP fully twice continuously, and I'm not bored. It's calming with a rocky edge supported by versatile vocals and great instrumental talent.
My personal favourite is the title track, 'Looming', and I think it'll be yours too!

For their full collection (it's only three songs - you can spare 15 minutes!) check out their SoundCloud.
Upcoming tour dates and more info can be found on the band's Facebook page.
