Twitter Find Of The Day: The Family Rain.

The Family Rain are a group of three brothers from Bath - twins Tim and Will, and older brother Ollie -who have a phenomenally authentic indie sound. Having all been in independent fruitful projects, the brothers joined as a unit in 2011 and their success has snowballed from there.
The combination of 'fuzzed out' guitars, heavy percussion, hip-hop twists and a bluesy vocal, reminiscent of Jack White almost, has ensured the band have had a devoted following ever since the release of their debut single "Trust Me...I'm A Genius". The video for their debut single also caused waves across the internet, as they 'hip-hopped' the English countryside like there was no tomorrow. This single also ensured the band practically had their pick of labels, including Lily Allen's In The Name Of.

Aside from comparisons to Jack White, the band has also been likened to The Black Keys and The Strokes, although I hope (and I'm sure) they are better live than The Black Keys, who are disappointing to say the least!
I noticed the official NME Twitter page post something about this band a few days ago; curiosity (and the desire to do something other than revise!) lead me to clicking onto the link provided. I was so impressed by the music video NME plugged, I searched The Family Rain on SoundCloud and found an Aladdin's cave of talent.
My favourite song on the SoundCloud is the band's new single 'Pushing It', which was given it's first play by Zane Lowe on Radio One at the end of last month. They've also shared the stage with the likes of The Courteeners and Willy Moon, in supporting roles, suggesting success suits them just fine. And having recently been added to the line-up of the Dot To Dot Festival, with the likes of Tom Odell and Swim Deep, the success and fanbase will just keep growing.
The band are also playing at Reading & Leeds Festival this year, although it took me a while to spot them on the line-up poster! I'm sure in the next few years they will be a lot higher on the set list!
A final note: what makes me love The Family Rain the most, above their infallible talent and catchy tunes, is the fact they dress the same! In every single photo I've seen of the band in my research for this post, they match! Cute or what?!

I don't think any description of 'Pushing It' that I provide will do it justice, so instead I've included the video in this post. The talent speaks for itself!
